The Isle of Wight has narrowly escaped both an amber warning for Storm Antoni's strong winds and a thunderstorm warning, but a national Met Office yellow warning remains in place for the Island today (Saturday), until 8pm.
The Met Office says unseasonably windy conditions will see up to 55mph on coastal stretches, and in some parts of England, also inland, with 65mph on the coast.
The winds will slowly ease later.
An amber warning has been issued for areas east of the Island and a thunderstorm warning is now in place for areas west of us.
A local weather warning is also in force.
The IW Met Service also has a yellow warning in place, for widespread gusts of up to 50mph, and up to 60mph on exposed coasts and hills.

The wind will be SW to start but becoming NW, says forecaster Jamie Russell, leading to normally sheltered areas being affected.
Jamie said: "60mph gusts would be of little consequence during the winter months but, as there are various events taking place, along with a larger amount of people, the risk of accidents or injuries, due to the conditions, is significantly higher."
