NATURISTS on the Isle of Wight said they would support new signage, to let unsuspecting people know they are approaching a nudist beach.
The Isle of Wight Naturist Club has responded to complaints from a holidaymaker, saying their use of a locally known nudist beach is not a problem as it has been used by naturists for years.
Speaking at their woodland retreat, one of the group, Mike, said: "We’re not weirdos, or sexual perverts and the human body is not indecent.”
He added: “Naturism is good for body acceptance and positivity."
Another member of the group added: “You don’t get tan lines!”
The letter was sent after a visitor to the Island from Milton Keynes found themselves on Yaverland beach and saw a naked man.
One of the group, Pauline, said it was tough to get to the beach and it was a known naturist spot.
The group said they would support putting up signs saying it was a beach used by naturists.
The Isle of Wight naturists have been meeting for years at their six acre woodland premises, where they barbecue and play games of table tennis.
