BUSINESSES and householders totalling around 1,600 living in the heart of a town centre on the Isle of Wight have been hit with power cuts.
Scottish and Southern Electricity (SSE) engineers have been called out to two areas affected in Shanklin this morning (Saturday).
The faults are in the PO36 and PO37 area, affecting 125 postcodes and around 1,600 properties, were detected in the Orchardleigh Road and Clarendon Road areas.
The faults were reported at 8.56am.
SSE engineers were alerted, with electricity predicted to be restored to both areas by 1pm.
