The Cowes to East Cowes floating bridge will be grounded until at least Wednesday (19), the Isle of Wight Council has confirmed.
The local authority said it is still awaiting a 'technical specialist' to resolve a software issue with the vessel.
It was pulled from service yesterday (Sunday).
"We are working hard to restore the service as urgently as possible", a spokesperson said.

A launch service, the Jenny Lee, will continue to operate during this time.
The East Cowes passenger launch is from Gridiron Pontoon on Castle Street, which is adjacent to the Red Funnel vehicle check-in.
The Cowes passenger launch is from immediately adjacent to the floating bridge slipway.
