THERE was a great feeling of pride and patriotism among the hundreds of Isle of Wight people who came along to support Armed Forces Day in Ryde.
Anything from parachute teams and motorcycles to a spectacular Spitfire aerobatic display over Ryde seafront and live music, made for a great day of fun today (Sunday).
But it was also a time for reflection, starting with a parade from Eastern Gardens, which featured military vehicles and marching, led by the Isle of Wight Highlands Pipes and Drums, with the Isle of Wight's Lord Lieutenant, Susie Sheldon, taking the salute.
Crowds of families were treated to not only some beautiful summer weather, but also a static military vehicle display, a spectacular demonstration by the Royal Navy Parachute Display Team and a remarkable Spitfire aerobatic display.
A closing ceremony wrapped up another successful Armed Forces Day.
