Two people have been injured in a crash involving a quad bike, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to Beatrice Avenue, East Cowes at 4.28pm.

It happened close to St Mildred's Church.

The road has been shut from its junctions with Saunders Way and Whippingham Road.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed a quad bike was involved.

Paramedics and one fire appliance, from Newport Fire Station, were also called.

Two people were injured, officers said.

One person was treated at the scene.

The other has been taken to St Mary's Hospital.
