Ryde Town Council has raised the Armed Forces Day flag today (Monday), at the start of Armed Forces Week.
On Sunday, a day of events are planned in the town, including flypasts and a parachute display team.
Nationally, Armed Forces Day events are held on Saturday, June 24.
Ryde Town Council said the flag is a symbol of support for the brave men and women who comprise the Armed Forces community.
That includes currently serving troops, service families, veterans, and cadets.
Sunday's events will be a testament to the appreciation we hold for the sacrifices and dedication of our armed forces personnel, the council said.
