The Isle of Wight will receive a royal visit next month, as HRH Anne, The Princess Royal, visits Cowes twice in ten days.
The Princess Royal will attend the Royal Ocean Racing Club’s 50th Edition of Fastnet Race Dinner at the Cowes Clubhouse on July 21.
The Fastnet Race is a biennial offshore yacht race, taking competitors along landmarks including The Needles, Portland Bill, Lizard Point, Land’s End, Fastnet Rock, Bishop’s Rock off the Scillies and Cherbourg breakwater in France.
On July 31, The Princess Royal, a royal honourary member of the Royal Yacht Squadron, will return to visit Cowes Week.
This year, Cowes Week takes place between Saturday, July 29 and Friday, August 4.
Princess Anne last visited the Island in July 2022 and attended Mountbatten’s 45th anniversary, then officially opened UKSA’s accommodation facility in Cowes.
In Ventnor, she also visited Cheetah Marine boat building factory on Eastern Esplanade.
