Storeroom 2010 - Cowes Men’s Shed, a local charity offering activities for isolated members of the community from across the Isle of Wight, was delighted to receive £600 from the Morrisons Foundation.
The funds will be used to buy a computer to provide IT workshops for their members.
Adam Martin, project lead at Storeroom 2010 said: “The positive impact the donation from the Morrisons Foundation will have on our organisation and the community we work with cannot be overstated.
"The support will help us to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and communities, tackling social isolation across the Isle of Wight and putting smiles on faces.”
Cowes Men’s Shed is open to everyone aged 18 and over and not just men, with a quarter of the charity’s members being women.
The charity offers a carpentry workshop, where furniture is renovated and provided to families on low incomes, as well as a craft room, gardens with polytunnels, raised beds and a relaxing seating area and the IT workshops.
David Scott, Morrisons Foundation trustee said: “In a world that is ever moving towards a digital environment, it’s highly important to ensure as many people in the community have access to and the skills to use IT equipment."
