It's not just about the host of big names appearing at the Isle of Wight Festival 2023, this weekend.

From Platform One college groups to regular pub-performing musicians, we have compiled nine must-see Island acts.
Here's when to see them at Seaclose Park and where to track them down.
1. Arctic Junkies
Where to see the Arctic Junkies at the Isle of Wight Festival 2023: Platform One Presents stage, at 9.50pm on Friday, June 16, and ElectroLove 9pm on Saturday, June 17.
While the real deal Arctic Monkeys hail from Sheffield (along with this year's Isle of Wight Festival bookings, Pulp and The Human League), popular tribute band Arctic Junkies are from the Isle of Wight.
Why not ‘Look Good on the Dancefloor’ on Festival Friday night?
An homage to the ‘Do I Wanna Know’ hitmakers, these Island music-scene regulars will be one of the best tribute acts you'll see at Seaclose Park this year.
2. Beth Brookfield

After a slot on Main Stage in 2022, former Wight Noize winner Beth Brookfield is back - this time in the cosy surroundings of the Kashmir Cafe - also known as the home of the cherry beer.
Recent BBC coverage and an appearance at a TEDx Talk has seen Beth present her music to a global audience.
Now you can join them and check out this talented singer-songwriter's acoustic, calming vibe, in an intimate setting.
3. The Dance Preachers

These experienced musicians have performed all around the Isle of Wight and beyond.
Fronted by local duo JC and Angelina, expect Gypsy Jazz crossed with old time country blues, crossed with celtic folk - and a plethora of instruments to entertain you.
Head to the Kashmir Cafe for a stomp and a hoedown!
4. The Ohmz

The Isle of Wight's very own reggae band return to Seaclose Park this weekend.
Expect classics including Monkey Man, Gangster’s Paradise, Three Little Birds and more.
You are guaranteed an infectious and energetic party atmosphere, with plenty of ‘Positivity.’
5. The Optimists

This year’s Wight Noize battle of the bands champions will perform on the Isle of Wight Festival main stage on Sunday.
The Platform One alumni will get the stage rocking with their 1990s inspired Britpop sound - bringing a modern twist.
One of the Island’s most promising up-and-coming rock bands, if can't get to their Main Stage gig, perhaps pay them a visit in the Kashmir Cafe, or see them on the Platform One Presents stage!
After six years of entering Wight Noize competition, the guys have finally done it. Good luck to them!
6. Panda Swim

Last year saw the release of ‘Loser,’ the second EP by Isle of Wight post grunge band, Panda Swim.
As time goes on, they're getting bigger and bigger and they have dates to support Coach Party and at Ventnor Fringe Festival, later this year.
Panda Swim may just be the next big thing, so catch them this weekend.
7. Plastic Mermaids

With countless festivals under their wings, Plastic Mermaids have a loyal fanbase - including The Smiths' drummer, Mike Joyce.
Having ascended to one of Isle of Wight Festival's best venues, they will get the chance to target an even larger audience.
They have plenty of material from numerous albums to choose from.
Expect music from Suddenly Everyone Explodes, to their most recent album, It’s Not Comfortable to Grow.
8. Romy Helen
Where to see Romy Helen at the Isle of Wight Festival 2023: Platform One Presents stage at 6.20pm on Sunday, June 18
If you’re looking for a feelgood, gentle atmosphere at this year’s festival then wander over to see Romy Helen.
Often found performing at Strings Bar and Venue, among other venues.
Featuring Ella Painter, the studio drummer with fellow list members Panda Swim, Romy’s terrific show is one that will be a highlight of the year.
9. Ruby Bodenham

Ruby Bodenham's Isle of Wight Festival debut will see her open the Platform One Presents stage on the final day.
Demonstrating her singer-songwriter skills, Ruby is a regular on the Island gig scene and has performed at pubs, open mic nights and even at the Newport's Coronation Celebrations, with her band, Cherrie.
