Iconic Isle of Wight hotel The Royal in Ventnor up for sale

Owner, William Bailey, who has owned and operated The Royal since 1994, says he feels now is the right time to stand aside.

During his tenure, Mr Bailey has been responsible for substantially upgrading the hotel’s facilities and expanding the range of services on offer to guests.

The hotel has won numerous accolades, including four silver star 2023 AA hotel accreditation and a 2023 AA two Rosette award for culinary excellence.

Mr Bailey hopes by handing over the hotel to new owners, the business will be able to develop further.

William Bailey said: “Whilst it is of course sad to be selling a business with which we have been involved for the last 29 years now is the right time.

"We wish a new buyer every success during their ownership of this wonderful hotel in a beautiful part of the Isle of Wight.

"Most importantly we would like to thank the staff, with whom we have shared this memorable journey, for their hard work and dedication over the years."

Featuring 51-bedrooms and extensive function facilities, The Royal has built a renowned reputation as one of the pre-eminent hotels on the Isle of Wight.

The historic hotel is centrally located in Ventnor, close to all town centre amenities, coastline and beaches. 

The hotel is up for sale through Christie & Co.
