A major road out of Ventnor has been closed this afternoon (Monday, June 5) to allow for urgent repairs.
St Boniface Road has been closed in both directions while Southern Water carries out 'urgent maintenance' in the area.
- Statement from Southern Water below
The road was temporarily closed in almost the same spot last month to allow for fibre optics work by Wightfibre and Saron Enterprises.
A spokesperson from the water company said: "Our teams will be carrying out urgent maintenance in the PO38 1PJ area.
"You may notice short interruptions or pressure changes to your supply throughout the day.
"We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this might cause, we aim to complete these repairs as soon as possible.
"When your water comes back on, you may notice some minor discolouration or low pressure; this is completely normal and is only temporary."
