Road closures put in place as part of a murder investigation in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, have now been lifted, police have confirmed.

Forensic specialists remain on Park Road this morning (Monday).

Three people, arrested on suspicion of murder, were held in custody overnight and remain there today.

They were detained following the death of a man on Park Road in the early hours of Sunday morning (28).

Yesterday, police confirmed the man, in his 30s, was stabbed.

He was pronounced dead while being taken to hospital.

His family have been informed and are being supported by officers.

Following the incident, cordons were put in place and Park Road, between Bennet Street and Riboleau Street, was closed by officers.

Today police have confirmed officers remain at the scene, but the road has reopened.

Three Islanders, a 27-year-old man from Sandown, a 27-year-old man from Ryde and a 24-year-old woman from Shanklin, were detained following the incident.

They believe this is an isolated incident, with those involved known to each other.
