Tomorrow (Sunday) is the last chance to view an exhibition by two former art teachers from the Isle of Wight College - celebrating the coastal beauty of the Island.
Featuring sculptural ceramics by Wendy Hayden and a body of artwork by Judith Sha’ath, ‘Time-Wind-Tide’ is showing at The Halland Gallery on Seaview High Street.
This exhibition provides for the artists’ particular responses to the ever-changing division between high and low tide around the Island.
Wendy and Judith taught together for 10 years in the art department at the IW College in Newport.
Dozens of art lovers attended the opening night preview last week, with both artists in attendance to answer questions about the work.
Judith said: “We’ve had some great feedback and spent a lot of time talking to people who are really interested in the techniques we use and our collaboration.”
Wendy added: “It's been really busy, lots of people have been really excited, with some lovely comments and just really fun.
“There’s a common thread that follows through the work - a real interest in observation, and it’s rooted on the coast and the beaches and that joy of finding things and being able to look closely.”
The show runs until tomorrow (Sunday, May 28), opening at 10.30am and closing at 5.30pm.
