A WEALTH of pharmacies are open on Isle of Wight this Bank Holiday weekend.

A total of seven pharmacies are expected to be open across the Isle of Wight between Saturday, May 27, and Monday, May 29.

The sites open are as follows:

  • Boots the Chemists, High Street, Newport – 01983 522595 – 10am to 4pm.
  • Lloyds Pharmacy (in Sainsbury), Foxes Road, Newport – 01983 533198 – 10am to 4pm.
  • Boots the Chemists, High Street, Ryde – 01983 562280 – 10am to 6pm.
  • Tesco Pharmacy, Brading Road, Ryde – 01633 591005 – 9am to 5pm.
  • Jhoots Pharmacy (Sandown Medical Centre), Broadway, Sandown – 01983 405436 – 10am to 1pm.
  • Seaview Pharmacy, Pier Road, Seaview – 01983 613116 – 2pm to 5pm.
  • Yarmouth Pharmacy, Quay Street, Yarmouth – 01983 760260 – 8.30am to 6pm.

Dr Tim Cooper, chief medical officer for primary and local care for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board, said: “As we look forward to another bank holiday weekend, a reminder that local pharmacists can provide expert advice on medication as well as many common illnesses and injuries.

“Please also ensure you have enough of any regular prescription medication you may need while your GP practice is closed on Monday.”

Pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals, with five years training, and can help with advice on tummy troubles, managing fevers, sprains and strains, sore throats and hay fever.
