AN ISLE of Wight man accused of making malicious phone calls to civil servants — threatening to slit their throats and shoot them — will face a jury trial.
Christopher Bowden, of Whitcombe Road, Newport, denied two charges of sending a malicious phone call, conveying a threatening message, to staff at the government's Child Support Agency, when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on Friday, May 19.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between August 22 and August 24 last year.
The 46-year-old was bailed to reappear for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on June 19.
