An Isle of Wight band will open Isle of Wight Festival's Main Stage, on Sunday, June 18, after The Optimists beat off stiff competition at the annual Wight Noize battle of the bands.
They have also won a day recording with Empire Sound and a post-festival marketing strategy workshop, with Ridiculous Biz.
Channelling sounds from '90s Britpop, The Optimists will join Festival headliners Pulp, Robbie Williams, Niall Horan, Blondie and George Ezra and more, between June 15 and 18.
The live Wight Noize final was held at Strings Bar and Venue in Newport, on Saturday, May 13.
