THERE is likely to be a repeat of the traffic disruption caused to one of the Isle of Wight's busiest high streets last week when it closed for two days, with more roadworks from tomorrow (Tuesday).

Shanklin High Street and Church Road will be shut for utility works, between 6pm and 8am daily, until Friday, May 26.

The High Street will close, between its junctions with Church Road and Eastcliff Road, and Church Road will shut between its junctions with High Street and Priory Road.

Island Roads will signpost alternative routes locally.

On Monday last week, Shanklin High Street was shut to allow emergency works by the Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN) to be carried out.

The route reopened late on Tuesday afternoon.
