Two men have been arrested after reports a gun and knife were seen during a fight in Sandown yesterday (Friday, April 28).
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has issued an appeal for witnesses and information, after officers were called to the town at around 11pm.
A man who sustained injuries to his face was taken to hospital, under arrest. He has since been discharged and remains in police custody.
A second man has also been detained.
An imitation firearm and a kitchen knife were seized, police said.
Officers continue to carry out their enquiries and want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and has information.

A 40-year-old man from the Isle of Wight was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, criminal damage, possession of a bladed article, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
A 58-year-old man from the Isle of Wight was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.
Buses were diverted when a road was closed, for a time.
