A POET who wrote a sonnet to the Queen last year for the platinum jubilee, has put pen to paper for the new King.
Chrissie Saunders, of Ryde, was delighted to receive an acknowledgement from the Queen in 2022.
She has produced another poem, this time written in the acrostic format:
Charles III
Celebrations for a Coronation abound with the Spring
Honouring the man born to be King,
As in our Country is the tradition
Regal respect his due recognition.
Laughter and tears like us he has known,
Emotive days as he accedes to the throne,
Serving the Nation, a new era begins.
Chrissie started writing poetry about five years ago when she was looking for a new hobby and she joined the Ryde Poetry Workshop.
Her poem to the Queen was published by the County Press in a commemorative edition.
- Look out for our Coronation pull-out in next week's County Press.
