Isle of Wight band Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers have been nominated in the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards 2023
The Ivors celebrates songwriters and screen composers and is one of the most loved and respected music awards in the UK music industry.
Nominated in the Songwriter of the Year category, the global success of Wet Leg – led by singer-guitarists and songwriters Rhian and Hester – has seen them claim Grammys and Brit Awards this year already.

Facing them in their category are Central Cee and Young Chencs, Florence Welsh (Florence and the Machine), George Daniel and Matty Healy (The 1975), Harry Styles and Kid Harpoon
The award recognises British or Irish songwriters or songwriting partnerships for outstanding bodies of commercially successful songs released in 2022.
Each winner will receive a coveted Ivor Novello Award and join a roll call of greats, which include Adele, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Stormzy, Amy Winehouse and many more.

Winners will be announced at the ceremony on 18th May at Grosvenor House in London.
