A BURST water main is leaving some residents in Newport without water this morning (Sunday, April 16).
Southern Water says it was made aware of a burst in the PO30 5JH (Hunnyhill) area of Newport shortly after 4.05am.
Its team is onsite investigating and making the necessary repairs.
The water company warns that sometimes repairs 'take longer than we'd like' due to numerous checks and tests.
Earlier this morning, water could be seen cascading down Hunnyhill.
A spokesperson from Southern Water said: “We’d like to apologise to customers in Newport, who may be experiencing low pressure or no water due a burst main at Hunnyhill.
"Our teams are on site and we’ll be working as quickly as possible to isolate the broken pipe and make repairs.”
Due to a large water leak on Hunnyhill, route 1 buses are currently unable to serve the following stops:

The nearest stops will be Newport Bus Station and St. Mary's Hospital.
