TRAFFIC is heavy in Whippingham after a car crash involving at least three cars this afternoon (Friday).
Eye-witnesses at the scene say a driver has fled.
UPDATE: The road has now reopened
One car has crashed into a hedge and at least two others are badly damaged.
In attendance are the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
Police are closing Whippingham Road between East Cowes Road and Alverstone Road.
