A major housing development in Ryde will not go ahead in the foreseeable future, after latest plans were refused.
Councillors voted against proposals for the 904-home Pennyfeathers scheme at a meeting today (Wednesday).
Concerns were raised about the layout and design of the controversial development of properties, which one councillor said looked like they had been designed by a "university grade-three" student.
Outline permission was granted in 2017 and councillors were today voting on 'reserved matters'.
Artists' impressions and layout masterplans had shown the development, which is seven years in the making, would stretch alongside Brading Road.
The images showed it would run from Westridge Garage to Busy Bee Garden Centre.
There would be houses and flats, commercial buildings and a community centre.
