FIREFIGHTERS and coastguard crews were called to rescue a woman stuck up to her waist in mud yesterday afternoon (Saturday)
Lymington RNLI were among the rescue teams called to the scene near Fort Albert in the West Wight, otherwise known as Cliff End Fort.
They were responding to reports of a woman stuck up to her waist in mud and worked with firefighters and other coastguard crews to extract her.
The woman, together with her fellow walkers and three dogs, were taken to safety.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: "We were alerted to three people stuck in the mud at Fort Albert, Yarmouth.
"Coastguard rescue teams from Needles and Ventnor and Lymington RNLI lifeboat were sent to help, along with firefighters and paramedics.
"All three people were rescued and taken back to shore by the lifeboat."
