Donald Wilks, Bonchurch:
We are taking a short break to visit a relation in France this month (April).
Having just booked the ferry (Newhaven to Dieppe), were amazed that it was actually cheaper to spend four hours on a ferry to cross the Channel to France, than one hour to get to Southampton from East Cowes.
How on earth can the ferry companies justify their inflated costs for such a short journey?
NB: Mr Wilks' costs are £110.50 on Red Funnel to Southampton, and £107 with DPDS to France.
