THE battle to become the up-and-coming Island act to feature on the main stage at Isle of Wight Festival 2023 will take place in May, as Platform One has announced the shortlisted Wight Noize finalists.
The Wight Noize initiative was created by Platform One, who have developed opportunities for young bands, artists and musicians on the Island since 1999.
One artist/band will be selected to open the festival’s main stage on Sunday, June 18, with the runners-up offered a performance slot on the Platform One Stage based in the main arena.

This year’s Wight Noize finalists are:
- Four-piece band Obscure Colours
- Indie singer/songwriter Rhirhi
- Four-piece rock band The Optimists
- Alternative rock band Now Only
- Singer/songwriter and guitarist Amy Jolliffe
- Metal band Jaded
- Rapper Big T
Posting on Facebook, Platform One said: “Thank you to all the acts that allied for our annual competition to open the main stage of the Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday this year.
“Whilst we couldn’t put everyone through to the final showcase, it is amazing to see such talent in the applications we received.”
The live final will take place at String Bar & Venue, in Newport Bus Station, on May 13, with doors opening at 7pm.
