AN ISLE of Wight man accused of beating and throttling a woman will stand trial later this year.

ALL CHARGES HAVE BEEN DROPPED

Brendan Bond, of Beauchamp Drive, Newport, appeared before a judge at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Monday, March 27.

The 33-year-old is charged with engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour, and intentional strangulation, in Sandown, between August 24 and September 10 of last year.

He is also charged with two counts of assault by beating against the same victim, on August 28 and September 17 of last year.

Mr Bond saw his case adjourned for a trial on September 11 at the same venue.

He was granted conditional bail until that date.
