Staff at an Isle of Wight electronics firm were lucky enough to meet royalty as they celebrated success at the Maritime UK Awards.
Datum Electronics has been awarded the Clean Maritime Enabler award, in recognition of its innovative products and services that are working towards a clean and sustainable future in the marine industry.
The honour was presented to members of the team by Lloyds Register, in front of Maritime UK's Patron, HRH Princess Anne.
Financial Controller Michael Irons at Datum said: “I am elated both personally and on behalf of the team at Datum to have received this award."
Managing Director James Lees said: “We are both honoured and proud to be awarded such a prestigious award.
"Designing and manufacturing products, software and services that has a direct effect on the decarbonisation of our seas is a distinct part of our business strategy."
In particular, the company was recognised for its latest hardware and software innovation around Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index, otherwise known as EEXI.
This award, the company's first at a national level, follows a flurry of successes for the firm, locally and regionally.
It recently picked up a gong at the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce Awards, as well as the Maritime UK Solent Awards.
