Customers at a popular pub in Gurnard proved the RNLI means a great dill to them, when they raised money for the charity through a Pickled Onion War.
The Woodvale Hotel played host to the contest, which saw 14 customers bring their best home-prepared pickled onions.
The competition was revived after a three-year absence, due to Covid.
After getting themselves in a pickle, the tasting commenced.
Ginny Orrey, of Cowes, was crowned the Pickle Queen.
Nathan McGinty, the Woodvale’s general manager, said: “Thanks to the selling of tickets for a large raffle manned by the RNLI’s Cowes Guild, and donations, we were able to raise £1,075 for the RNLI.
"It was a very enjoyable event, for a very good cause."
Mark Southwell, Operations Manager of Cowes lifeboat station, thanked RNLI guild members, competitors and the Woodvale.
