A Sandown man who has spent a lot of time helping out in Ukraine is heading back there next month - and holding a fundraiser tonight (Saturday).
Nigel Watson is again driving his van out to the stricken country, full of essential goods, including three generators and food.
The last time he went, he took 900 shoeboxes collected by Islanders and handed them out to soldiers in secret locations.
The fundraiser starts at 7pm tonight at Wight Bay Hotel in Sandown.

Entertainment includes music by Wight Harmony Barbershop singers, a raffle, karaoke, buffet, burlesque dancing and an auction of souvenirs from Ukraine.
The auction lots include flags signed by Ukrainian soldiers, a piece of a burnt out tank, part of a Russian rocket, and momentoes from Ukrainian school children.
All the funds will be taken out to Ukraine and spent on essentials people are most in need of.
