DAMAGE caused to one of Wightlink's ferries means fewer sailing over the next couple of days.

The cross-Solent ferry company says it is currently operating a revised timetable due to damage caused to one of the prows on St Faith.

As a result, all of St Faith's sailings have been cancelled today (Monday) and tomorrow.

Capacity is already reduced because larger flagship, Victoria of Wight, is out of service for a refit, until the middle of next month.

Wightlink passengers were facing delays of up to two hours earlier today.

"St Faith will return to service on Wednesday morning, and will carry cars and small vans," said a spokesperson for Wightlink.

"Larger vehicles are being transferred to St Clare, which is running normally.

"Customers affected by the cancellations are being rebooked on alternative sailings.

"Wightlink apologises for the inconvenience caused to customers."
