An Isle of Wight branch of supermarket giant Sainsbury's has donated £100 worth of items to help those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
The Newport store, on Foxes Road, was approached by Island A-Level student, Nur, who is from Turkey, and whose family have been 'deeply affected' by the tragedy.
He told the County Press he felt obliged to raise awareness of the disaster, alongside his sister.

After speaking with Nur, store manager Charlie Bird kindly agreed to donate hats, socks, nappies, adult hygiene products, baby food and baby formula, among other items.
Nur said: "My family and I will box the goods and drop them off at a collection point.
"We cannot thank Mr Bird and staff at the Sainsbury’s store in Newport enough, and we hope that the generosity can motivate other supermarket chains to do the same."
Today (Friday) is the last chance to donate to an Isle of Wight appeal, set up by Newport woman Jolean Aylanc.
She said the response from Islanders has been 'overwhelming'.
