Two Isle of Wight properties were among more than 140 lots sold by Clive Emson Auctioneers, at the first of eight auctions this year.
On February 8, the regional land and property specialist, which covers southern England, saw what it called bidding wars for buildings in Avenue Road, Freshwater and Nelson Place, Ryde.
Lot 108 was Shirley House, in Freshwater's Avenue Road, comprising two commercial units and a large maisonette.
The auction winner was promised further potential from the site itself - it sold for £230,000, after 32 bids.
The final bid went £40,000 over the lower end of the guide price.
One of the commercial units is let to estate agent Hose Rhodes Dickson, while a smaller space used to be a hairdressing salon, but is currently empty.
Meanwhile, a two-bedroom terraced house at on Nelson Place in Ryde, fetched nearly £30,000 over its asking price.
The hammer fell on £148,000.
As previously featured by the Isle of Wight County Press, Nelson Place's new owner will enjoy views to the Solent and can take a stroll to both Ryde Esplanade and to shops and eateries.

Its ground floor features an entrance hall, living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom.
On the first floor, there is a landing and property's two bedrooms.
There is a garden to the rear.
The property enjoys the remainder of a 999-year lease at an “informally apportioned annual rent of £3.50”.

The auction of a vacant, freehold commercial property on Ryde High Street, with a guide price of up to £100,000, was also postponed.
