A MAN and a woman have been arrested after a raid on an Isle of Wight flat led to police seizing suspected class A drugs, mobile phones, £1,000 cash and a handgun.
At 11.20am yesterday (Monday, February 13), police stopped a BMW along Eddington Road in Nettlestone.
The driver, a 38-year-old man, tried to run from officers but was detained and arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and acquiring criminal property.
Police seized suspected class-A drugs, cannabis, cash and a mobile phone during this incident.
As part of this investigation, police later attended an address on Union Street in Ryde, where suspected class A drugs, drugs paraphernalia, mobile phones and other digital devices, as well as approximately £1,000 cash, were seized.
A 54-year-old woman was arrested at the address on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and acquiring criminal property.
Searching officers also found a self-loading pistol at the address.
The man and woman were both further arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate.
They remain in custody at this time.
