AN ISLE of Wight man who graffitied a picture of a penis on a building belonging to his former employer must pay Nodes Point Holiday Park compensation after being caught on CCTV.

Daniel Lewis, of Church Road, Havenstreet, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates yesterday (Tuesday).

The 27-year-old admitted criminal damage in Ryde, on July 26 of last year.

Prosecutor, Ann Smout, told the court Lewis was an ex-employee at Nodes Point Holiday Park.

She said a picture of a penis was graffitied on the holiday park’s reception building, and Lewis had been responsible. He was caught on CCTV.

Mrs Smout said Lewis was a person of previously good character, and a Newton hearing was needed to determine the value of compensation owed to the holiday park.

Michael McGoldrick, defending, said the Crown needed to determine the true value of the damage caused, and a Newton hearing was the only logical option.

Lewis saw his case adjourned to March 23 at the same venue.

He was granted unconditional bail.
