MEMBERS of Bembridge Little Theatre Club (BLTC) have celebrated another successful year and celebrated by helping out a local charity.
During 2022 they continued in their 30-year tradition history of staging popular high quality entertainment for Islanders to enjoy.
At the group’s recent AGM they celebrated the talents of the casts and crews involved in the two main shows of the past year, Blithe Spirit and Lettice and Lovage, both of which played to sell-out audiences.
BLTC also supported new kids on the block GASP with their production of Pirates of Penzance, and with them co-hosted the very popular carols and mince pies.
Tribute was paid to Hanna Nixon, whose evening showcasing Judy Garland was enjoyed by a packed and appreciative audience.
At each event, a raffle was held, with all proceeds going to BLTC’s chosen charity of the year, the Isle of Wight Prostate Cancer Support Group.
BLTC was delighted to present Alan Taylor and Roy Colledge with a cheque for £600. The group works to provide free testing for Island men and support those with a prostate cancer diagnosis.
There was also a donation to the Isle of Wight Foodbank.
In 2023, the chosen charities will be Embracing Age and Independent Arts.
BLTC's next play is The Actress, which will be performed in May.
