Airline Flybe has ceased trading, cancelled all flights and has been placed in the hands of administrators.
If you have a Flybe flight booked from Southampton airport, you are warned not leave home because it will not operate.
This is the second time Flybe has collapsed.
In March 2020, passengers from the Isle of Wight were among those warned not to make the journey to the airport, just hours before planes were grounded.
On 28 Jan 23 David Pike & Mike Pink were appointed Joint Administrators of Flybe Limited. Flybe has now ceased trading. All Flybe flights from & to the UK are cancelled & will not be rescheduled. At that time, Flybe had a major presence in Southampton, but its April 2022 reincarnation was based at Belfast City, Birmingham and Heathrow.
For almost a year, it has been operating flight routes including to Southampton.
Today (Saturday, January 28), in a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority said any Flybe customers who needed to travel would have to make their own alternative travel arrangements via other airlines, rail or coach operators.
Paul Smith, Consumer Director at the UK Civil Aviation Authority, said: "It is always sad to see an airline enter administration and we know that Flybe's decision to stop trading will be distressing for all of its employees and customers."
David Pike and Mike Pink have been appointed joint administrators of Flybe Limited, by the High Court.
