AN ISLE of Wight pub has announced it has reduced its opening hours as it seeks to tackle issues brought about by the cost of living crisis and a fall in trade since the festive period.
The White Lion in Niton will remain closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, every week, for the foreseeable future.
The pub made the difficult decision due to the ever-growing cost of energy and supplies, combined with the post-Christmas decline in trade, says the pub.
Posting on its Facebook page, a spokesperson said: “This is to relieve the pressures, that like, all others in our trade, we are feeling during the current cost of living crisis.

The pub's owners added: "We urge you to please support your local small businesses where you can.
"We are looking forward to returning to normal service when this becomes viable again.”
The White Lion’s sister pub, The Chequers Inn in Rookley, will be open as normal.
