ISLAND Roads has confirmed a main road between Sandown and Brading remains closed this afternoon (Wednesday) due to safety concerns.
Morton Common is closed from its junction with Avenue Road and Perowne Way to its junction with Yarbridge, New Road and Marshcombe Shute.
A spokesperson for Island Roads said it remains closed as recent floodwater has now frozen on the highway.
Important utility works are also taking place on the diversion at Yaverland, so motorists can expect some delays.
Due to the ongoing closure of Morton Common and issues in Yaverland, routes 2 & 3 buses are having to divert from Sandown via Lake, Arreton and Brading Downs to reach Tesco. At Tesco, all buses from Sandown will terminate.
