A Newport man has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a flat fire in Pan early this morning (Wednesday).
Firefighters from Ventnor, Sandown, Shanklin and Freshwater were called to Robin Hood Street, at about 6.15am.
Crews were able to put the fire out, and no one was hurt.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has since confirmed a 39-year-old was detained.
He remains in police custody.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is being investigated.
It has been a busy morning for firefighters, who were also called to a fire at a hotel in Newport.
