Clatterford Road, Clatterford Shute and Froglands Lane in Carisbrooke have been closed today (Monday), due to flooding and three flood warnings are in place on the Isle of Wight.

In East Cowes, there is water on the road at the top of York Avenue, near its junction with Crossways, but it is passable.

There is also surface water between Sandford and Godshill, forcing cars into the middle of the road.

Also closed is Castle Street, Carisbrooke.

Bonchurch Shute is closed and so is the Langbridge crossing at Newchurch. 

There is also flooding at Yarbridge, Morton Common and Smallbrook Lane and at Pondwell, near the Wishing Well pub.

The Island also saw some sleet and, on higher ground, some snow, for a time, the IW Met Service has confirmed to the County Press.

Island Roads says its gritters will be out tonight, from 7pm and then again at 5am tomorrow morning.

Three flood warnings have been issued for Sandown, Brading and Bembridge on the Eastern Yar, Whitwell, Wroxall, Langbridge, Alverstone, also on the Eastern Yar and Carisbrooke and Hunny Hill on the Lukely Brook. 

A number of flood alerts are also in place.

Meanwhile, Island Line trains are off, due to flooding.

Tickets will be accepted on Southern Vectis bus routes two and three.
