Isle of Wight resident Christopher Jackson has shared photos with the County Press of the two occasions when he met its star, Jan Harvey.
In 2010, he met her outside a theatre in Wimbledon, where she was starring in Calendar Girls.
Five years later, he saw Jan again, at a memorial service to her former Calendar Girls co-star, Lynda Bellingham.
What is Howards' Way?
Launched in the same year as Eastenders, the BBC's answer to Dallas and Dynasty was set in the fictional coastal town of Tarrant.
Plots revolved around the lives of the highly privileged south coast yachting set.
The classy power couple at the heart of the drama were Jan and Tom Howard, played by Jan Harvey and Maurice Colbourne.
Kate O'Mara, Tracey Childs and Glyn Owen, as Jack Rolfe, also featured.
The series was produced by BBC Birmingham and was originally screened between 1985 and 1990.
Among the local sites to feature were The Needles and the Island's famous lighthouse.
On Facebook, Graham Pountney revealed he played powerboat enthusiast 'Mark Foster' in the show.
His character's business was taken over by Ken Masters (Stephen Yardley), before Mark was later killed in a dramatic powerboat crash.
These days, Graham runs Ryde-based Theatre Reviva!.
Heather Wilson commented on Facebook to tell us she was an extra in the show, before praising the quality of the food on set.
Did you get to meet any of the cast and crew when they were here? Maybe you featured as an extra?
