AFTER two decades, the owners of Cowes’ Cabin On The Green, formerly Davis Jones Locker, have decided to hang up their cones.

Found on Princes Green, the family-run business offers a wide range of ice creams, specialising in the New Forest brand and others, as well as hot and cold drinks and takeaway snacks.

Posting on Facebook with ‘mixed emotions’, the former owners said the takeover had created ‘no dramas’, and the new owner, Diana, has been working with them in preparation for the handover.

There will not be many changes at the Cabin, as Diana said, ‘if it ain’t broke’.

A spokesperson for the previous owners said: “Thank you so much for your support, custom and above all, friendship. It’s been hard work, but you guys made it a pleasure.

“We will be about for a while, helping Diana find her feet, so hope to see you on the Green.

“We wish you all the best for the future, stay healthy and remember, no calories on the beach!”
