A popular and established Isle of Wight hairdresser has suddenly closed and its customers have been texted to say all future bookings have been cancelled.
A message from Franki's Hair Salon in East Cowes was sent out on Monday night.
It read: "To all clients. We are sorry to inform you that all bookings and appointments have been cancelled, due to unforeseen circumstances.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
The business has been a mainstay of the town for more than a decade.
A note on the Clarence Road business's door on Monday night confirmed its closure.
It appears the news was unexpected.
On December 23, the salon posted on Facebook to wish customers a happy Christmas, saying it would reopen on January 3.
In its pre-Christmas message Franki's Hair Salon said: "We will try to answer Facebook messages, but any calls made to the salon won’t be answered until we are back!
"We hope you all have an amazing Christmas and will see you all in the new year."
Its customers had also posted to wish the team a happy Christmas.
