Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service crews, from Newport and Ryde, were sent to York Avenue, East Cowes on Tuesday night, following a fire involving two vans.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary says its officers have been informed, as it is believed the fire may have been started deliberately.
One van was well alight when firefighters arrived, just after 6.30pm.
Flames spread to a second vehicle, parked next to it, on the main road into the town.

The van that was destroyed was owned by John Keyworth, of Ryde's Islandwide Carpets.
He told the Isle of Wight County Press: "It's come at the worst time - our busiest time of the year.
"We've now got to get ourselves organised and try and find a replacement van so we don't let any of our customers down."
In July, a hedge and three vehicles were damaged, close to where last night's fire happened.
On December 10, a Hobgoblin beer van was on fire in the same area.
