JD SPORTS hopes to reopen its only Isle of Wight store ‘very shortly’ after severe weather conditions damaged its Newport High Street shop.
The sports-fashion retail store closed on Sunday (December 18), a week before Christmas Day, after a collapsed roof caused significant flooding inside the building.
Click-and-collect orders that have already been placed can still be collected from the store while it is closed.
However, there is a pause of new orders until the store reopens.
A JD spokesperson said: “Due to damage caused by severe weather conditions, we temporarily closed our Newport High Street store on Sunday to ensure the welfare of our employees and customers.
“Repairs are underway, and we hope to reopen again very shortly.”
