A huge thank you to members of the Wootton Knit and Natter group, represented here by Jenny Wicks!
Together they have made an amazing EIGHT blankets for the Isle of Wight County Press's Wight Warmers Knit-in (#wightwarmers) appeal, which aims to create warm scarves, blankets and hats, for Islanders facing rising energy costs, this winter.
What's it all about? Well, knitters, crocheters and sewing experts are getting crafty, supporting vulnerable residents, as many face a stark choice between heating and eating.
We have drop-off points across the Isle of Wight and a host of charities on standby, to distribute your donations to local people in need.
Wootton Knit and Natter's blankets were dropped off at Aspire Ryde, which is sharing items with those it supports.
How YOU can get involved in the Wight Warmers Knit-in appeal
- Grab your knitting needles, crochet hooks and sewing kits, and craft blankets, hats and scarves
- Choose any design - to suit your skills!
- We are aiming to gather 200 items in time for Christmas
