The Isle of Wight is covered by two flood alerts this morning (Wednesday), as heavy rain falls again.

A flood alert has been issued for the Island's coast, because high tide at 9.45am will be higher than normal, in unsettled weather and light westerly Force 4 winds.

For an hour either side of high water, expect minor impact flooding on some seafront roads, esplanades and car parks, including in Cowes (affecting Medina Road and the Floating Bridge).

In East Cowes, there may be a minor impact in Albany Road.

At high tide at 10.15pm, tide and flood impacts will be similar to this morning.

Meanwhile, water levels in the Eastern Yar are high.

With more rain today and tomorrow (Thursday) water levels will begin to rise.

The Environment Agency said: "We continue to monitor the forecast and will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages. Please ensure any products used to protect gardens and property from flooding are operating."

Weather problems for Isle of Wight travel

Hovertravel services are cancelled this morning (Wednesday).

Red Jet passengers are warned to expect problems between 10am and 4pm, due to the weather.
