A woman pedestrian in her 70s has been taken to hospital with injuries to her leg after a car mounted the pavement on Shanklin Esplanade, hitting her.
The car was left hanging over the edge of the Esplanade, perched above a steep drop down to the sand below.
Emergency services at the scene included the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Police were called at 12.28pm today (Friday) to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
The fire service sent two fire engines, a response support vehicle and the aerial ladder, and firefighters helped police winch the vehicle off the wall and make the scene safe.
Three people in total were treated by the ambulance service.
The vehicle has now been recovered and the road is clear, but a parking meter and a bench have been damaged and are currently taped up.
